Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya: Spiritual Revolutionary of Modern Era

Most historians will agree that if a count is taken of those great spiritual leaders who ever lived in any country in last century, Pandit Shriram Sharma would be prominent among them. He deserves to be called first among spiritual leaders and the Great Rishi of modern era. He was born on September 10, 1911 in a well-off Brahmin family in village Anvalkheda near Agra (UP) in India. He used to accompany his father on his visits to rulers of princely states to deliver religious discourses on Srimad Bhagvat Purana and thus learnt Bhagvat from the core of his heart. Nani Palkhivala- What a man!

Image
“His life was gentle and the elements So mix’d in him that Nature might stand up And say to all the world, “This was a man!” Einstein has once stated “The greater the genius, the more simple and common the man”. In the pages of history of modern India, the name of Nani Palkhivala is always to be known as such a man who was tender towards the bashful, gentle towards the distant, and merciful towards the absurd fulfilling Newman’s definition of a True Gentleman. In Parsi community, their are usually two or three personalities in a generation to whom the Parsi’s attach the fond Gujarati prefix- “Apro”. Nani was “Apro Nani” (Our Nani) not only for them, but for common masses. Coming from humble circumstances and as a child suffered from a dreadful stammer, Nani Palkhivala had a brilliant academic career. He earned a master's degree in En...

It was Winston Churchill who said that one mark of a great man is the power of making lasting impressions upon people he meets; and another is to have so handled matters that the course of after events are continually affected by what he did. If greatness consists of a combination of both and if it is to be measured by the lasting value of solid work done in the fields of thought and action, Dr. Ambedkar was beyond question one of the most outstanding man in Indian history. He was born at Mhow in Central India on April 14, 1891 in the oppressed community of Mahars as youngest among fourteen children of his parent. His official name in the school register was Bhima Ramji Ambavadekar. He voluntarily took surname of Ambedkar for himself as a mark of love and respect to one of the teacher named Ambedkar of the Satara High School who loved very much and often fed him. He was in the fifth standard and only fourteen, when he was married to Rama...

Business Leadership: Learning from the Great

“Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.” ..... John F. Kennedy Leaders are movers of people, mobilizers of opinion. Emperors rule, but leaders motivate. As Disraeli said, “We govern men by words.” When one does not have strength within, one cannot earn respect and respect is absolutely essential for lasting leadership. Hence, leaders never stop learning. Henry Ford once said, “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty”. Leadership is a journey of discovery. There are strategies to be gleaned; Mantras to be internalized and inspiration to be borrowed. Business leaders are pillars of economy of any country. Their journey towards top is always challenging and inspiring. It is rightly stated that on...
